Shipping Policies

The Piperack typically ships Monday through Friday, although there are occasions when I am out of town where shipping is delayed.  I am a one-man show and if I am out of town, there is no one here to ship.  If this is the case, it will be noted on the homepage and in the "Latest News" section.  The shipping cutoff for the day is 3 PM Eastern time (-5 GMT).  Any orders placed after this time will ship on the next business day. 

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.  For example, butane fuel is univerally banned from any air transport.  Certain countries restrict or prohibit anything containing precious metals (including silver and gold adornments) as well as ivory.  We do our best to make sure your pipe will make it through customs with a minimum of hassle.

Orders in the USA (including APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii and Territories)

For orders within the USA, shipping will now be calculated based on weight and distance, and will be calculated at the time of checkout.  Shipping options will include USPS Priority Mail and Express Mail, as well as UPS Ground, 3 Day Select, 2nd and Next Day Air.  You will find that your best rates are going to be with USPS Priority Mail; in most cases shipping will be around $10 and your order should arrive within two to three business days.  Need it sooner?  USPS Express Mail is now an option, which will get your package there in one to two business days.  Please note that while UPS is an option, UPS rates are considerably higher than USPS, and since rates for the USA are now based on distance and weight instead of flat rate, you will probably be the most satisfied with USPS Priority Mail as your shipping option.

A note about APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, and PO Boxes:  If you have a military address, live in one of the territories (such as Puerto Rico) or have a PO Box, UPS is NOT an option for shipping.  Any order that comes in for a military address, PO Box, Alaska, Hawaii or a US territory MUST be shipped via USPS Priority Mail! 

Orders to International Destinations, Including Canada

International orders are based on flat rate shipping since most shipping costs are consistent for USPS Priority and Express International.  Shipping to Canada will be USPS Priority Mail International and is set at $21.  Other worldwide destinations are priced at a flat rate $28 for orders valued up to $200 and will be sent USPS Priority Mail International; orders valued over $200 will be shipped USPS Express Mail with Tracking and will be priced at a flat rate of $35.

Typical shipping times are just estimates and can vary wildly depending on your country's customs policies.  Typically, we see delivery times of three to five business days to Canada with USPS Priority Mail.  International orders can take between six to ten days for USPS Priority International and between four and six days for USPS Express Mail International.  However it should be noted that we have seen delivery times as long at four weeks if your package is being held up in customs.  We do everything within our power to make sure that your package gets through customs with a minimum of hassle and cost.
